Established in 1996

Australian Hot Taps was established in 1996 and was the first company to be accredited by the office of Gas Safety (now Energy Safe Victoria) in 1998 to Hot Tap and Stop Off live gas lines.

We specialize in the Hot Tapping (also known as Wet Taps, Live Taps, Live Tapping, Under Pressure Taps, Under Pressure Tapping & UPT) of operating pipelines, providing Hot Tap connections from 12mm – 1200mm & beyond. This means we are able to provide a valve teed into the existing operating pipeline without shutting, draining or stopping the flow in the pipeline.

Always Innovating

Australian Hot Taps continues to innovate and is the only Australian Hot Tap company that can provide size-on-size tapping’s on copper water lines (from 50mm through to 100mm), install thermowells or thermometer pockets on water lines and complete live Valve Insertions on Steel water lines (100mm through to 300mm) with the EZ2 Valve System.

We continue to invest in new equipment & can offer balloon or bag off isolations on live pipelines where the EZ2 system cannot operate.

Versatile

Australian Hot Taps provides Hot Taps on Steel, S/S, Copper, PVC, HDPE, PE, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Cast & Ductile Cement Lined, AC & all other manner of pipeline materials.

The Hot Taps are made into Natural Gas, Coke Gas, Chilled Water (CHW), Heating Hot Water (HHW), Potable Water (DCW) (DHW), Condenser Water (CCW), Steam, Compressed Air, Chemical, Petro Chemical and various waste product lines.

We offer ultrasonic NDT testing of all pipelines prior to welding and Hot Tapping.

We work in all industries including but not limited to — Commercial tenancies, hospitals, civil, sporting arenas, defense facilities, mine sites, steelworks, aluminum smelters, schools, universities, data centers & government installations.

AS/NZ 2885:2 2016 Accredited

Our welders are accredited to AS/NZ 2885.2 2016 CL17 for butt weld, fillet weld and socket weld, which are all transmission gas welding procedures.

We also offer any further testing required to have the welding accredited to whichever standard the client requires.
